VOLUNTEER

The Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona depends on the support of volunteers to ensure quality services are provided to our community. Whether you can give an hour every three months or an hour a day, we have a job that fits in your schedule.

Join us in as a volunteer in service on a committee with the Brain Injury Alliance.

Committee Opportunities
Brain Health Gala Silent Auction Committee

Various meeting times/ dates

Help us make our signature event to fund outreach and services for veterans a success. Members work with merchants and service providers in the valley to facilitate donations and arrange promotion.

Butters Fund Committee

Meets via Zoom Last Monday of the Month 9-10AM

Allison Marshall, Chair

The Butters Fund is a one-of-a kind programs that supports survivors of all types of brain injury in maintaining their pets and service animals through financial challenges. The committee supports the animal and owner’s health and well-being.

Camp Can Do Committee

Meets as needed

Camp Can Do is a four-day camp for survivors of brain injury. The camp relies on physical therapy and occupational therapy students and professionals to staff the camp, other professionals, caregivers, and survivors are welcome to assist with fundraising for scholarships for campers and volunteers.

Dream It Forward Committee

This committee works to sustain the program that provides:

 

  • Scholarships for students impacted by brain injury for trade school, after school programs, or college

  • $300 Certified Brain Injury Specialist Credential Scholarships Arizona Professionals
  • Instructor Stipends Living Well after Brain Injury
Education Committee

Meets via Zoom Last Monday of the Month 6-7PM

Join us as we plan the educational aspect of conferences and programming for survivors, caregivers, and professionals

Public Policy Committee

Meets in BIAAZ office/ via phone last Friday of the Month 4-5PM

Help us educate elected officials on the guts, grit, and support it takes to live well after brain injury. This committee works with state, local, and federal officials.

Run, Walk, & Roll Committee

Meets in BIAAZ office/ via phone last Friday of the Month 3-4PM

This committee supports the signature fundraising event for the Brain Injury Alliance by executing a fun and family friendly competitive 10k and 5K run and a fully accessible 1-mile fun run/walk.

Services for Vulnerable Populations Committee

Meets via Zoom 2nd Tuesday of the Month 6-7PM

Do you care about outreach and services to those with brain injury in the  populations of foster involved youth, serious mental illness (SMI),substance use disorder, those with chronic housing challenges, and veterans and active duty military.

Speakers Bureau

Meeting dates/ times shared with members

Members of this committee are selected after actively serving on other committees where they are involved in Brain Injury Alliance events and programs. Speakers Bureau members assist the organization by speaking at a variety of community events and programs.

Strategic Planning Committee

This committee convenes quarterly to check the progress of the organization’s overall master plan.  Meeting times are shared with members.

Tucson Concussion Run

Committee meets August-October in Tucson

Join us on the committee responsible for making the inaugural Tucson Concussion Run benefitting the programs and outreach of the Brain Injury Alliance in Southern Arizona a huge success. As a member we will work on attendance, sponsorship, and the overall look and feel of the day.

Utility Assistance Funds Committee

Meets Via Zoom last Monday of the Month 8-9AM

From executive function challenges to decreased earing potential, the whollop brain injury packs can lead to survivors of brain injury and their families to be in danger of having their utility services disconnected. Members of this committee will make allocation decisions and work to raise funds to distribute
