Many people who hurt their heads get well and have no long-term problems. Some people have problems that may not be noticed right away. You may notice changes in yourself that concern you.

You don't have to lose consciousness or black out to have a brain injury. If you have had a concussion, you have had a brain injury.

Not all brain injuries show up on MRIs or CAT scans. Sometimes a neuropsychological assessment is needed to show that you have a brain injury.
